Notes

Re-released as a double black vinyl two LP set with a new redesigned sleeve.

SIDE A: Recorded live in Paris 18 December 1979
SIDE B: Recorded live in Paris 18 December 1979
SIDE C: Recorded live in Amsterdam 11 January 1980
SIDE D: Recorded live in Eindhoven 18 January 1980

This is the second in a series of two. Paris, an unlikely twin for Preston (get69). This LP is, of course, of its time; not just late 1979 when it was recorded, as Joy Division beat up their sound and vision to move implacably on, from "Unknown Pleasures" to "Closer", but also Spring 2001, the date of release, reminding us, in the dog days of another culture, traumatised by synthetic rock and an increasingly aimless dance culture, reminding us what pop music is and can be. Thank you Mr Mathers and you limp biscuit boys. But we can do it too. We can be real. And this band was more real than most of us can still cope with. Enjoy.

Sides C and D play with a lot of distortion. C and D must be have been recorded in the Netherlands and not France because they do not sound anywhere as good as A and B sides. Can't believe something like this made it to a record.
