possibly the most obscene example of "buy it for the cover" i've ever seen. there is no sane reason for a dashed-together compilation album to be worth this much. I guess the city pop aesthetic trumps the actual music sometimes
Brakora Brakora
lol this is the most iconic hype I've witnessed myself. I remember the Discogs listings in summer of 2017, which prices were all under 10k yen in NM-.

it's a shame i didnt hoard this record even though it has been on my radar since 2009! theres a lesson to be learned here....Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered" is an old Wall Street saying that warns investors against excessive greed. The use of the terms "bull" and "bear" to describe market outlook is derived from the manner in which these animals attack. Trust your ears when you hear these gems and pay 10-50 dollars if u know they're worth it. according to my analysis this album has the potential to go to 500-1000 dollar

It's track #5 on her 8th album "Tea For Tears"

This record is wanted for his cover ^^ Tracks are so good of course ( Dancin' is real Gem ), but prices are crazy.. Let's wait for a good repress..

It's worth noting that all of the tracks on this compilation except "Isn't It Magic" are available across Junko Ohashi's other albums. Here's a breakdown:-'Tea for Tears' contains B1 and B3.-'Tasogare ~ Postcard Fantasy' contains A6 and B2. The 2009 CD and iTunes Japan releases add A2, A4, and A5 as bonus tracks. -'Point Zero' contains B4, B5, and B6. The 2009 CD and iTunes Japan releases adds A3 as a bonus track. Hope this helps people out! It is frustrating to have to get the songs piecemeal, but even buying the 3 separate albums is way cheaper than trying to get a copy of the vinyl. EDIT: Isn't It Magic is available on the 2-CD "Complete Single Best" compilation.

I was thinking this when I was going through Ohashi Junko's albums on YouTube which also included those bonus tracks ahahahBut it's great that you can almost compile all of MAGICAL's songs again in CD form this way plus it's kinda like having more music if you collected those CDs listed. It's a real shame this best album didn't get a CD release but perhaps if it's talked about enough, they might release it but I think getting the separate albums is a good idea too :'D

"Isn't It Magic" is also available elsewhere: it's included in this Junko Ohashi = 大橋純子* - Story = ストーリー compilation, albeit under Japanese name 「恋はマジック」

Had no idea this album is so rare - just got into collecting vinyls and have had the MP3s of this for a while. Bummer.
Xwnaydan Xwnaydan
No such thing as "vinyls". The plural of vinyl is vinyl.
Sadaron above the Gods Sadaron above the Gods
I emailed Junko Ohashi about to reissue this album on vinyl. I sent the email about 3 months. I never got a response.
Voodoosida Voodoosida
You should probably be emailing the publisher, not the artist
Gogal Gogal
I just wish it was re reissued on the original phillips label.
Thomeena Thomeena
Here is her email information. Try to see if you can get a response.http://junko-ohashi.com/contact.html

If you're serious about reissuing this record, you would be better speaking to the licensing department of the label which own the rights to the recordings, which in this case would mean getting in contact with Universal Music Group, who administrates the Phillips catalogue. BGP Records / Howard Williams (Japan Blues) recently licensed 'Dancin' for the Lovin' Mighty Fire (Nippon Funk • Soul • Disco 1973-1983) compilation, so it would logically follow that the rest of the recordings on this compilation are available.
Quashant Quashant
lets hope for your sake that is doesn't get reissued :) If it ends up coming out I would definitely be interested, I cant justify spending huge amounts on records.
Phain Phain
I emailed in Japanese. I don't why I got a response. :--/
Alsalar Alsalar
That would be amazing but also, don't? It's so special and elusive and maybe sometimes the gold deserves to remain magical and rare... I have loved this record for so long and still don't own it. But the hunt for it makes one day owning it all the more worthwhile.
Conjuril Conjuril
did you email her in English or Japanese, do you run a label?
Deeroman Deeroman
C'mon Phillips, repress this masterpiece !!! Y'all are sitting on gold.
Gaua Gaua
You should email her about that. I already did that. But never got a response for 3 months.
Feri Feri
This album is too funky for my soul! A must have!
Nea Nea
Wow, there is something to this album. Shame it is no where to be found.
invincible invincible
meanwhile waiting for reissues, there's plenty of sites that can allow you to download the album...
Jox Jox

Whiteflame Whiteflame
