Does anyone want to actually sell one of these? Let me know when you're ready with a sensible price.

This vinyl will come to me soon, but for now:Fucking head in the picture ((looks disgusting. And my girlfriend really does not like this case. So that this does not spoil the impression of the music, I will probably take black paint or a marker and hide this damn golden head =) both on the cover and on vinyl) Or I use a stickerI think it will look somehow especially interesting and mysterious ... ;-P ...In short, I have nothing to do
Celen Celen
That’s a great way to devalue your investment, even if you don’t think so.

If you're talking about taking a sharpie to the cover of this album I hope it never comes into your possession

I own this set and all can say is it is awesome. Great packaging, and the best sound of this album available. Those who say it sounds like shit, take a CD and compare. Other than that, it's the first pressing, don't have the money for that. This one it's top notch. In mine there's a little noise, but once it's cleaned it almost disappears.
Winasana Winasana
I just picked up a copy and confirm that it sounds like shit. It has a lot of surface noise.
Brightfury Brightfury
i i sold my repress too but im still happy with the sound of my original pressing .. never had a pic disc sound that good
Malojurus Malojurus
calm down, Cedric... we'll buy nadie reissues too... just calm down and reissue frances and bedlam

I've got the gold version & there's a very soft crackle throughout the entire album - anyone else get this?
Pad Pad
yes mine had too much surface noise to listen to. Sold it and got the black version. much better.
GYBYXOH GYBYXOH
My gold pressing has a good bit of surface noise as well.
Stick Stick
Sounds fantastic; much better than the original pressing.

Looks good and Sounds Great.

Can anyone find this release on MOV site?I saw it there a month ago there but now looks like it's gone, any clue why?
Malalrajas Malalrajas
People on various forums are guessing that it's due to the dispute between Universal/MOV and the band.

Nothing crappy about this release. Awesome packaging, great looking and sounding records. Also 100% legit. Really don't care too much about TMV not pocketing the money for this reissue. They claim to have all the rights needed to release vinyl-reissues on their own, but never bothered thinking about it all these years. And now that universal/MOV does the job, all of a sudden Cedric is like suuuper excited about those reissues they've been planning since at least ever and how terribly great and official they are going to be. No thanks, I'm good. Suck it, Cedric.

Exactly. We were waitng for years. I already pre ordered Amputhechre and if they do their own release of Frances , and i can get it here in Europe , then i will probably get their version. If not then MOV.

Music on Vinyl is financed or even owned, I don't know, by big music business, possibly even Universal themselves. They have lawyers who clear the rights to whatever they feel like releasing. Apparently the band (who licensed the CD version of this record to Universal but retained the rights for the vinyl) wasn't on board for this release, which seems like a quick shot reaction to the bootleg that was released a few months ago. I onw some MOV records, and while the vinyl and sound quality are mostly good, sometimes the print/cover quality sucks. I think the band should have repressed this long ago but I guess Universal somehow fucked them over so they couldn't. The first press was on picture discs that sound good but in many cases were not flat, now we get this with reportedly crappy covers, and the bootleg that's a CD master, and possibly another reissue by the band's approval... it's all a bit messed up. I wish there was one version that does these recordings justice! Hope the band will make that happen!

I don't what everybody is saying but my cover and the rest of the packaging looks nice! Glossy Gatefold and thin but elastic inners , so they don't rip fast. If you compare that to Mars Volta self released last album you have a non gatefold 2lp with very thin inner sleeves and the center labels of the vinyl is bigger than usual so when the stylus raches the end it just stays there and doesn't stop the turntable. Its funny to see all the enraged fanboys on twitter repeating evrything cedric says.
Fountain_tenderness Fountain_tenderness
Music On Vinyl have tweeted to say that this release is official. You can read this article which i think clears it all up. http://modern-vinyl.com/2014/05/17/a-word-on-misusing-bootleg-and-the-mars-volta/
Braswyn Braswyn
that's at least was cedric said...dunno if he's right.
Kison Kison
black and silver are official, but gold isn't? doesn't make any sense to me. at all. either MOV has officiall rights to press those records, or they don't. and they do.
Brakora Brakora
all of the MOV-versions are official. Cedric is spreading wrong information - he's either terribly misinformed or trying to make people wait for the US reissues that the band will be putting out on Nadie. Chances are that they want more money from royalties than they're getting from Universal via the MOV-release, and therefore are misinforming fans about the MOV-version. Total dick move from their part.
Vojar Vojar
all represses are from "nadie sounds". omar's (?) new label...
Mr_NiCkNaMe Mr_NiCkNaMe
only silver and black ones are official represses.
Iraraeal Iraraeal
check his tweets from last night: https://twitter.com/cedricbixler_
Onetarieva Onetarieva
Are you sure he isn't referencing the "Gold Standard Laboratories" release that is unofficial?
Bluecliff Bluecliff
he has stated that it is indeed the gold vinyl copies from MOV - I still consider him misinformed
Kazigrel Kazigrel
these are bootlegs. confirmed by cedric on twitter.
Magis Magis
There's some speculation that Cedric isn't fully informed as to who holds the distribution rights in Europe. A little sketchy maybe, but probably technically legal.
Qiahmagha Qiahmagha
No, they're not. Music On Vinyl is a legit label. Most likely one of two things have happened:1. Cedric is confusing this reissue with the bootlegs that were released fall last year. Those were originally meant to be gold-colored, but ended up being black.2. Cedric is displeased with the fact that the band had no say in whether or not these reissues shold happen (most likely due to different rights holders in the US and the EU) and now he's deliberately spreading misinformation. He's not exactly the most stable person so I can't say I'm surprised if this is the case.
invincible invincible
Cedric is calling the reissue a bootleg on Twitter (https://twitter.com/cedricbixler_/status/467413950082977792). Please disregard his comments and tweets as he's clearly got no idea what he's talking about. This is 100% official - just in case anyone's in doubt.

Put yourself in his shoes man. If someone was producing and selling your art for a profit without so much as a heads-up, i'm sure you would be pretty upset.
Beabandis Beabandis
Not worth the 40 dollars. The packaging on it is a big disappointment. I would still say to buy the original copy. Its a quality press.
Sinredeemer Sinredeemer
There's also the problem that the original press costs about 3-4x times the money this first legit repress cost. I'm not paying 150+€ for a record no thanks.
Ghile Ghile
The original pressing is a picture disc, noisy and not very dynamic. Many copies (including my own) also came warped. This reissue however sounds incredible. The packaging is not as good as the original but its not terrible either. Based on the sound alone I'm going to be listening to this version exclusively and keep the original as a collector's item.

There are actually 1,500 being pressed on silver vinyl and sold via Shop Radio Cast. You can see in their listing for the Black 2xLP that the Silver Pressing is marked as SOLD OUT:http://www.shopradiocast.com/products/The-Mars-Volta-%252d-De%252dloused-In-The-Comatorium-2XLP.html

Same. They're beautiful pressings, too. I have high hopes for the silver De-Loused and blue Amputecture, though I'd prefer the UK red/gold edition :P

CooGarn In my experience they often don't note the different colours releases have been pressed on. I have a couple of releases from Music On Vinyl that had extremely limited colour runs and aren't noted on their website, like the yellow pressing of Rage Against The Machine's 'Evil Empire'. Also not the first time Shop Radio Cast has had variants that no one else has. They've definitely got some connections in the industry, or have sales to stand behind when requesting special variants. I think those that are exclusive to specific retailers aren't listed on MOV's site. I have a few of the RATM-albums as well and those were exclusive to whatrecords.co.uk.

ShopRadioCast announced that the silver release was exclusive to their site - they're doing a blue exclusive for Amputechture as well
Bad Sunny Bad Sunny
Wich is very strange, because this is the only shop on the planet where you could preorder this one and you'll find no information about a silver pressing even on the MOV webpage ...
